The unnamed, faceless Bard

Here is what I am thinking about for the Bard. I thought I would post it for comments since we are supposed to be a pre-formed party. Let me know if I am doubling something one of you were specializing in. I see him as a negotiator, spy type of character.

CHA = 16, DEX = 16, INT = 15, CON = 13 (7 hit points), STR = 10, WIS = 10

Skills (only took class skills, no cross-class):
Perform (3), Concentration (4)
Knowledge history (3), Knowledge arcana (3)
Sense motive (3), Diplomacy (2), Bluff (2), Gather information (2)
Decipher script (2), Spellcraft (2), Use magic device (2)
Hide (2), Move silently (2)

Spells Known:
light
mage hand
message
read magic

Also know the following for being a Gnome: speak with animals (1/day), dancing lights, ghost sound, and prestidigitation (one of those 3, one time/day)

Equipment:
studded leather
gnome hooked hammer
crossbow, light
20 crossbow bolts
Cure Light Wounds potion
backpack
bedroll
trail rations (7 - BOD suggested amount)
waterskin
fish hook
sun rod (3)
sewing needle
ink pen
ink
parchment (5 sheets)

I don't think I have forgotten anything important.

I have 15.7 gp left (by my calculations - hopefully not too far off). I had some suggestions of things we might want as a party. I am willing to purchase these (or something else) or donate my money toward something we need. Let me know what you think.

Alchemist fire
Acid flask
Tindertwigs
Everburning torch
Tanglefoot bag
Shovel
Flint and steel
Money toward Kris's horse supplies

I actually worked out my equipment as well.

Leather Armour
Hvy Wooden Shield
Scrimitar
Sling
Backback
Bedroll
Flint & Steel
Hooded Lantern
2 pints of oil
waterskin
5 days of trail rations

This puts me at exactly a light load...I need to look up if my spells have components or not that would add 2 lbs so I'd loose 2 days trail rations.

I'm still not sure if I should just say the heck with it and go at a medium weight and get hide armour for +1 more ac (18 with hide 17 with leather). I could use some suggestions with the weight decision.

As for the horse I have:
Bit and Bridle
Military Saddle
Saddle Bags

Even with all this equip I have 60 gold and 72 silver remaining. I still have to buy sling ammo and probably some horse food even though it will mostly eat grass according to the player guide it helps to feed the horse some oats if it is working hard. So I know I have a few little things to buy yet, esp if I decide to go with a med weight but I don't think I'll need the 15 gold....I appreciate the offer, but think it would be better used for party items.

I wasn't sure if I needed a bedroll or not being a druid and sleeping outside a lot...I figured I'd need something it just might be animal hide instead of the normal blankets, but keep the cost, weight and such the same just for simplicity. Would the DL like to chime in on that?

Fellhammer, if you want to call your bedroll a hide blanket that's fine with me. The campaign will be starting in the early spring so some sort of blankets will be needed but if hide blankets rather than a standard bedroll (at the same cost and weight) fit your character's style better that's fine with me.
Did you go with the light or heavy horse?
As for the weight thing, I wouldn't go with any less than 5 days of trail rations. A week might be better but if weight is a serious concern I'd still not go with less than 5 days. You can ignore the trip to Goblin's Tooth as far as rations are concerned. Treat your adventure as starting in Goblin's Tooth when calculating supplies. You will be staying at the inn in Goblin's Tooth and your first 2 nights are paid for (1 GP for 2 double rooms per night or 6 GP per week after that though) but you're on your own for food. The meals at the Inn will cost about 2GP/day for each of you plus drinks, if desired. You can probably get by a little cheaper if you stick to bread and goat's milk but 2GP/day should be plenty to eat well.

Fellhammer,

Can your horse carry some of your stuff like the bedroll/blanket, the backpack, the trail rations, the waterskin, the extra pint of oil - at least for most of the travel?

I am trying to stay at a light load due to AC penalties on a couple of my skills, but I could go to medium and carry some of your stuff if the horse can't and you need to be light.

I actually had the same thought about the horse carrying non essential items to have on your person. Those things would of course change if we went into a cave or a dungeon for a few days, but for being in the woods, I could imagine that the horse couldn't carry some stuff.

what you guys have done with your characters looks good to me. I haven't really done anything yet, maybe this weekend I look at things.

How about having the horse carrying his own oats?

I still have to work out my faceless, nameless, raceless cleric. I'm a horrible procrastinator, but I'll get 'er done before next Friday :)

Arya - half elf cleric of Ehlonna (subject to change if another kick ass diety pops out of wizards.com at me)

18-Wis, 18-Con, 15-Cha, 14-Str, 12-Dex, 10-Int

Skills: Concentration, Knowledge(Religion), and Spellcraft

Feat: Combat Casting

Stuff:
scalemail
heavy mace
longbow
arrows (40)
waterskin
heavy steel shield
bullseye lantern
rations (7)
bedroll
steel mirror (handy for peeking around corners and divining)
oil
wooden holy symbol

After all this, I have around 25gp left. Should we plan on pooling funds together for a healing kit as a failsafe measure?

How about pooling to get another cure light wounds potion instead? That is 50 gp.

Also do we want any other stuff - acid flask, alchmist fire, hammer, shovel, etc.?

I think we have a rope - Fel has it?

The Bard is no longer nameless. He will be Wilhelm (Willy) Carlos Billiams.

A bit more of that healy goodness sounds good to me. I should have around 20 gp leftover; I haven't added everything up in e-Tools yet.

Fell is supposed to be holding the rope for the Band from Nantucket.
