It's a Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jessica and Steve have also added a new member to their family. They have a new little girl named Marisol Huber-Preischel. She weighed in at around 35 pounds (Steve is exhausted). She also has alot of hair and a full set of teeth (Steve is having a hell of a time nursing her)!
Congratulations Steve and Jessica!

So, what's the lemon factor?

So far just intestinal parasites. 2 types of worms, a tapeworm and some other parasite that I can't remember, so 4 all together. She's got medication that she needs to take for a week and she should be in the clear after that. She gets her stitches out next week and a couple weeks after that goes back for more shots, another stool sample etc... With a little luck that'll be it. All things considered, not bad for a shelter dog. She weighs about 40 lbs and the vet guessed she's about 6 months old based on how many adult teeth have come in. She's doing great. Learning to sit, stay and come. She's getting better at eating but is still easily distracted and it takes a while to get her to finish. Sam, however, has no trouble focusing on Marisol's food. She likes to chase the cats though so we're working on that. She's very loving but definately has some seperation anxiety and abandonment issues but what did you expect? That will go away with some judicious use of the magic touch.

Wow, she's a lot more exotic-looking than Jessica described at work yesterday. Perhaps she has a bit of hyena in her? But seriously, her spotted face looks really impressive on such a golden-like body.

Yeah. Don't tell Marisol I said so but she is kinda funny looking. She's going to be a great dog though I think.
