Quote of the day (Cinco de Mayo)

"There are two ways of spreading light - to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it."

Or you could be the idiot who puts the candle too close to the curtains and sets the room on fire.

oh, oh, I know this one! Another way is with a flashlight.

A torch works pretty well, too.

And a searchlight.

And headlights.

Hey, wait, there are LOTS of ways of spreading light. That quote is a gyp, give us a better one!

A candle makes no light. It is the fire that burns the candle that makes the light.

Or better yet. You go ahead and be that candle. I'm going to be the fire that burns that candle and we'll see who gets smoked.

You're right.... and what about the match that lights the candle that spreads the light? It's like the man behind the man.

I'm going to go for the burning hands or flaming sphere spell.

Ohhh...or use that crazy mirror trick from "The Mummy" to light up a room.

I think it's better to be the mirror rather than the candle or the flame - because when the candle burns out the flame on it dies also. But the mirror can just reflect a new flame from a new candle.

(The motto of editors, critics, and paparazzi everywhere).

I think it would be even better to be one of those mirrors the FBI or whoever uses. The kind where you can see through one way. What do you call those? One-way mirrors maybe? Then you could not only reflect the light but you could also allow the light to be seen through you.

I love Edith Wharton. Good quote Malikar, esp since it allowed me a little more time to screw off instead of grading my exams!

Wait, what if you were one of those reflective mirrors that come in emergency kits, that are designed to focus the sun to start a fire?

Then, when you reflected the light, you could burn the f*** out of the candle at the same time!! Sweet!

(I think I've been reading too much OOTS, I'm beginning to channel Belkar or something).
