Victory in the Culture War

It occurs to me that the Bushists have shown relatively little ability to follow through on their "victories" in Afghanistan and Iraq. Perhaps (we may hope) their "victory" in the culture war will be equally pyrrhic.

Lets hope so. On a related note - I recently found this pdf - http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~rundm/graphics/supkitty/MarriageDifferences.pdf . It's depressing to see how few rights a civil union offers by comparison to a marriage. I've heard people arguing this as a "separate but equal" issue. I have not yet determined where the equality part comes from.

If you read the pledge that Canadians have to sign it gaurantees an adequate supply of Timbits. For those of you who have not had the intense pleasure of visiting a Tim Horton's donut place, a Timbit is the Tim Horton's version of a donut hole. If you have never been to Tim Horton's, stop what you're doing, drive to Canada (or at least Buffalo or some other northern area) and get coffee and donuts. The donuts are great and the coffee is divine. God I miss Tim Horton's.

Michizzle,

When considering "separate but equal" it is important to remember (in the immortal, and oh-so-appropriate words of Napolean the pig, or perhaps his silver-tongued minister of propaganda Karl "Snowball" Rove) "All animals are equal. But some are more equal than others."

Dang. It's been a while since I read Animal Farm. I just remembered that Snowball was the Trotsky figure, not the propagandist. Squealer was the one who wrote and modified the rules.
