Tactic from GenCon Seminar
The BOD and I attended an advanced dnd tactics seminar on Saturday afternoon. While it was not what we expected as it focused on building/improving a gaming group, there was a good idea that we picked up on to help prep for the DM and lessen downtime. Before each session, the PCs should plan out which general direction they would like to head for the next gaming session. Helps get the flow of the gaming session going and helps the DM by not needing to prep the entire floor of a dungeon for one session. If we're able to get a map up of our current progress thru the dungeon, do ya'll think this sounds like a good idea? We did pick up some nice software at GenCon that has you input a 2-D dungeon layout and automatically can transform it to a 3-D rendering with dungeon-y walls that can be used for this, too.

Forgot to mention one other thing we picked up Sunday at GenCon, Dungeon stamps. I saw these in the back of Dungeon magazine a few months ago and thought they looked pretty nifty. "You see a table in the middle of the rooom...right...here. *stamp*"

That sound good to me. I guess the only problem is since we've only gone in such a small portion or the dungeon we may not really be able to know which way we can go. I think in this campaign, we should go to what we think is the farthest most corner and work our way around to the other side. Which is what I think we are doing, or at least trying to do.
Way to go on the Dungeon stamps, those look awsome. We saw something to keep in mind; a dungeon mat that you can write on with a sharpie. After a few weeks, when you no longer need said info, you go over the sharpie with a dri earase marker and wipe it off with a dri earase earaser. We were all mystified , sharpie actually came off of the mat. The mats also fold up flat like a map, and they have the 1" grid on one side and hex grid on the other. Something for our group to concider.

whoa! Erasable Sharpie without using hairspray? *mystified*
I guess for this week, we have to either consider doubling back the route that we came from to check all doors or continuing past the kobold room where we rested two weeks ago.

I guess I'm sort of leaning toward doubling back. We've stumbled into an area where a 4th level wizard, a magical beast, and half a dozen helpers are struggling to get by. We should consider checking with the kobolds about what areas they've found to be safest (or more precisely, which areas we want to avoid) and go from there. Not to metagame too much but this tactic could allow Kris to send us in a direction he's most prepared for or sees as being most approptiate for us without actually forcing us to go anywhere or being too specific about what we're getting into. Caprico is up for any direction but would vote to back up and see what we've missed. There may be a way out that we walked right past...

Agreed. But let's not call it metagaming with the guidance of the bringer of death, let's call it intuit direction or sense.

Can I call it Spidey senses?? :)
