a request, but no pressure or arm twisting

So tonight is game 4 in the CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP series between Buffalo and Carolina (hockey, of course). The game starts at 7:30, and we are all set to TiVo it. Buuut, I was wondering if anyone minded playing in the living room tonight, with the game on. We will turn the game off during intermission and we can play during the game, but it will probably be at a slower pace than if we really paid our full attention to D&D (more like the nights when we screw around a lot during D&D). I normally would not ask since I know the D.L., Loki, and I are the only ones who really like hockey (although it seems Michizzle is getting interested - or is exceedingly polite). And I know only the D.L. and I are crazed to watch the Sabres. I just know I will be obsessing about it the entire night and Buffalo has only made it this far 3 times in my entire life and we have been getting the local Buffalo call during the game over Sat radio (so we do not need to listen to the obnoxious OLN announcers) and....Ok, maybe there was a little arm twisting, but honestly I can wait and watch after we play if that is preferred and I won't be upset. But i just thought I'd ask - you know the old addage - you don't know unless you ask.

Explain to me how this is logical

I just got an automated call from Insight - our internet cable provider. They are upgrading or something. The purpose of the call was to tell me that if my service was interrupted, I would need to restart things in a certain order - something like:
turn all off
wait 2 min
turn on modem
wait 2 min
turn on router
wait 2 min
turn on computer
(though I am not sure about the modem/router order)

Anyway - all off topic since it was the last statement which got me. The instructions are available at their website if I need them. However, if my service is interrupted, how the hell will I get to their website??? Would it kill them to mail the instructions? They could put them in with one of the bills we receive from them.

It's Quizno's

It's our turn to get food. We'll be picking up Quizno's. Have your orders in by 5:00PM today please.

New Panini Menu

Panini Deli does have a new menu but it does still have what you ordered Loki so unless you want to change your order in light of this new development you're good. Here it is:

Menu

Yep, they're open. Here's the menu. If you click on it and enlarge it to regular size you should be able to read it. I'm going to try to stop by on my way home for lunch to be sure the menu hasn't changed significantly. Let me know before 5 what you'd like. Thanks.

Phood

Hey,

We're thinking of picking food up from Panini Deli which is near our house. We haven't been there in a couple years so I need to check and be sure they're still open. They now have a location in West Lafayette so I need to see if they have 2 locations or if they closed the Lafayette one. Anyway, they have sandwiches and some italian dishes (chicken parm and the like) and if they still exist in Lafayette I'll scan in their menu since I can't find it on-line. More info to come later.

Dinner Stuffs

Fell and I can grab dinner tonight. I'll swing by Culver's for the ever so popular frozen custard - yum! Fell can handle Mad Mushroom orders, too :) Frozen custard and pizza, blame me for these healthy but oh-so-yummy choices :D

Less is not really more

As my regular order at coffee shops has changed from "large, black, with sugar" in grad school to "small, non-fat, decaf latte (with sweetener)" nowadays, it occurs to me that the following exchange is probably somewhere in my not too-distant future:

"Welcome to Starbucks, may I help you?"

"Yes, I'd like a cup of smell, please."

"Excuse me?"

"Just hold the cup over the coffee pot, then put a lid on it..."

Dates Please

What are the dates between now July, that we know of, that we are not playing D&D?

funny video

Just came across this video. Crude, definitely not work-safe, but funny in a slow-burn, eventually over-the-top kind of way.

I think it's our turn to pick up dinner. In celebrating May 5th and just to be different, we'll be getting JimmyJohns. Okay, it's different but I like JJ's. Have your orders in by 5 pm today please.
That is all.

Lost

I totally missed this because we skip the commercials, thank you TiVo, and not that I would have noticed, but apparently Lost is putting clues in fake commercials. So if you are a lost fan you must check this out, it's a website that was in a fake commercial for The Hanso Foundation.

And BTW, last nights episode rocked. I was just beginning to lose interest Lost, but now I'm hooked again.

The next couple Fridays

Hey there you crazy gaming kids,
I want to see what people would like to do this Friday. The Dwarf will be gone but will return for next Friday's D&D session since her conference on mining and brew crafting in Central Florida has been postponed until June sometime. If people would like to play D&D that's great, if people would rather play some other game/games that's fine too, or if someone has another suggestion I'm open. Just checking.
