Weekly Dose of Geek Humor

In case you don't read the Foxtrot comic daily (I admit, I do!), check out this week's Foxtrot. It introduces a new game, Houses and Humans, or HnH which sounds a lot like The Sims table top RPG.

Change of Date??

Hey all, was wondering if it would be possible for us to meet up for DnD this Saturday (April 30) night instead of Friday night (April 29). Please let us know if this is possible :) Thanks!

Do the Chicken

OK. I don't know how many of you have see this before but for those of you who haven't it's worth checking out:

Go ahead, tell him to do something. Practically anything. Air guitar? Sure. The Electric Slide? No problem. Breakdance? Why not?
What good things can you find?

Somehow, This Does Make Me Feel Cool

The Geek Hierarchy, I'm still relatively not geeky on the list according to this :-)

Dinner on 4/22

It's our turn to get dinner this time. I have two suggestions: Great Wall Chinese restaurant, or Moe's Southwest Grill (new tex-mex restaurant in Wabash landing). There is a menu for Moe's:

No menu for Great Wall online, unfortunately, but they have all the usual stuff. Any preference? We like Great Wall. Have not yet tried Moe's but it looks interesting.

Alas Poor Malikar, We Hardly Knew Ye

Rappan Athuk has taken its first adventurer from our band. Malikar was devoured by the massive Stewart monster. Being a neutral good cleric, I picked up a camera to capture the Malikar's last moments...of course I wasn't going to blow another thrid level spell! I will forever remember her assless chaps :(

No Kaironen, you're not.

The Pala-cleric forgot that they're going to be late on Friday so The Dwarf and I will be picking up dinner. We're thinking about the South Street Smokehouse if no one has any objections. Menu at www.southstreetsmokehouse.com if you can believe that. Despite their name and reputation there are several reasonable dinner ideas for the more "dietarily conscious" members of the party. And if you run "Kaironen" through the Blogger spell-checker the first suggestion is "chairwomen." Coincidence? I think not.

Dinner this week

I think we're getting the dinner this week. Any suggestions?

McDonald's is probably not the best choice, though apparently their attempt to get hip might appeal to the folks on this blog (fill in your own jokes about hot beef between buns, etc.): I'd Hit It

(yeah, I know it's a few months old by now, but I don't get out much anymore)

Dinner Anyone?

So, it's our turn. We will be getting Gordy's.

Weekend Off

Hail Mighty Warriors (and the clerics and ranger too) (and Malikar) (and Loki),

I have scheduled my camping trip for May 21-23 so I won't be able to play on May 20th. I need to leave home at about 3am on Saturday in order to get to the lovely Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in Kentucky (www.lbl.org) by 9am. Yeah, I know, "You're going to get up at 3 in the morning so you can drive 6 hours, carry 40lbs of camping equipment up and down hills for 25 miles while sleeping on the ground, eating dehydrated food and shitting in a hole in the dirt that you have to dig yourself?" Hell yes. If anyone is interested in our route, you can check out the Park map at the LBL website http://www.lbl.org/LBLGeneralMap.pdf. We'll be leaving from the Golden Pond Trailhead on Saturday (after saying "Hi" to Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn), heading north on the North-South Trail & spending our first night near Rhodes Bay (about 8.5 miles) hopefully with a campsite by the lake. Sunday we'll continue northward and camp somewhere between Sugar Bay and Duncan Lake (another 8-9 miles). On Monday we'll hike the Nature Station Connector Trail to the Nature Station Trailhead where we'll have left the other car (about 6 miles or so). That's the plan at least. I'm pretty excited.

Family Photos

New pics are at web(dot)ics(dot)purdue(dot)edu(slash)(tilde)francisa(slash)(wrf). There are also a couple new ones in the 2005 subdirectory.

I didn't post a link due to general paranoia about web-surfing robots (this page has no connections to or from it, so it should be realtively difficult for any crawlers to find). Also, please don't create any links to this url from any other pages. I'm pretty sure bookmarks should be ok, unless you post your bookmarks (as some do).

DnD on Friday May 6

D.L., Loki, Malakar, and I are going to a concert on Friday May 6. Can everyone play on May 7 instead? Or do we need to cancel?
